19 Meetup Groups match “Freethinker” near Toccoa, GA
I started this meetup group to combine two things.. Dancing and as a social group for freethinkers.. This meetup piggybacks on a dance meetup, so most people there will be dancers. "Freethinker" is an umbrella term for atheists, agnostics, as well as the occasional Buddhist or deist, classical freethinker (like the American Founders), and many Unitarians. It is the fundies who should be singled out (not freethinkers), so I would rater have a freethinker meetup, rather than an atheist meetup.. B …

Greetings and Felicitations! Welcome to our group! If you are a nonreligious person living in the northeast Georgia area, you are warmly invited to join us. Please feel free to jump into our Message Board and Mailing List discussions. We value your opinions and ideas. Also, we are open to families of freethinkers, so if any of your moms, dads, brothers, and sisters or cousins, wives, husbands and children also happen to be free from religion, please invite them too. We are a niche group indeed. Right leaning (OBJECTIVIST?) atheist/deist/non-theists? Who knew? Membership and meet-up info is confidential--no photos are required. We will meet in the Clemson/Central/Easley area for coffee or happy hours in neutral settings, nothing formal until we knit together. This is NOT a home for militant, never-had-faith Liberal atheists! There are plenty of great groups for those types--and I belong to a few and I love my atheist friends deeply. BUT>>> this is a safe, co …

WNC Atheists brings together people that find no evidence for the existence of any gods or deities. Are you an atheist, agnostic, skeptic, or freethinker? Then welcome aboard! (Please note: most information about the group, including the names of our members and the locations of some meetups, is kept private from non-members. Unfortunately, we live in a society where there are potentially negative consequences for being public about one's atheism.)

We are parents, gaurdians, and supporters of ethical, freethinking children and youth. We meet for social activities, educational programs, seasonal celebrations, and nature outings that encourage children and youth to ask questions and to deepen trust in their own internal "compass". We affirm the values of the American Ethical Union and our sponsor, the Ethical Society of Asheville and YouthQuest of Asheville. We also affirm the values of the American Humanist Association and our local par …
If you are a non-believer, non-religious person and feel singled-out living in a place where the vast majority of its inhabitants is religious, this is the group for you. I started this group because I've been living in the Cumming area since 2011 and so far I couldn't find anyone that shares my same (lack of) beliefs. Maybe there are others out there like me who just weren't found... yet. If you're that person, let's get together. I want to hear about your readings and I want us to challenge ou …
This group is inclusive of anyone who shares the beliefs of Humanism or Freethought. Freethought is a philosophical viewpoint that holds that opinions should be formed on the basis of science, logic, and reason, and should not be influenced by authority, tradition, or any dogma. Humanism believes in the prmacy of human, rather than divine or supernatual matters. We hold a variety of meetups including coffee-shop social chats, book studies, lectures, movie viewing, invited speakers, bar hopping …
This group was started so that the atheists in the upstate could give back to the community. With our facebook and meetup members combined we have over 140 members. We do volunteer work, community service, food drives, and we have adopted South Blackstock Road. Our billboard should be going up soon also!! This is not only a great group for giving back to the community, but it also makes it easier for like-minded people to meet and socialize. This group is open to all atheists, agnostics, humani …

We invite you to join our community and express your thoughts and ideas without worry of being judged. Whatever stage of recovery you are in, we wel …
Have you ever had a Hindu claim Jesus lived in India? Have you ever wondered why some argued that Mitt Romney's religion was not a form of Christianity? Perhaps you heard of Confucianism but never realized how dramatically it impacted Asian culture today. Well, this group is the place to explore such questions as we travel through history and the world reading, then discussing, famous religious texts. In a laid back environment with a view of the skyline and plenty of wine, we'll devot an hour a …

OPEN YOUR MIND, BREAK OUT OF THE BOX AND REACH YOUR POTENTIAL Man has been taught to think, perform and produce in a box, a box based on color and race, sometimes even based on politics, education and religion. A box that limits potential, hides your true identity and prohibits you from unleashing the greatness within you. These boxes of color set our expectations of ourselves as well as others. These very boxes also then control and influence behavior, set our standards, control our income, sha …
To bring together atheists, agnostics and other freethinkers. What with this nation leaning towards becoming more religious, those of us who reject religion need to organize and combine our strengths. Even in a society that is supposed to be open and accepting, all too often we have to keep our atheism under wraps lest we be made pariahs.
Meet other local people whose worldview is naturalistic. We have regular monthly meetings in Gwinnett for Secularists, Humanists, Brights, Skeptics, Naturalists, Non-believers, Rationalists, Infidels, Non-theists, Freethinkers, Atheists, Agnostics, Normals.
WNC Humanists is a community of individuals who believe that Humanism offers both a realistic and responsible guide to a happy life without having the supernatural as part of their philosophy. This group is a get together for people interested in skeptical inquiry, current events in science, church and state relations, and medicine. We support critical evaluation of alternative health modalities, conspiracy conjectures, and pseudoscience in general.
We are devoted to maintaining a continuing dialog between all people who believe in the basic goodness of human nature without supernaturalism. 21st Century Humanism fosters the preservation and growth of Humanism, freedom of thought, freedom of expression, separation of church and state, and the traditional Humanist values of reason, rationality, experience, and the scientific method in a post 9/11 world by examining the real problems of humanists, agnostics, atheists, relativists, freethinker …
